There is no doubt that Aussies love their coffee. The ritual of enjoying a cup of barista made coffee is so ingrained in our culture. For many the visit to their favourite cafe is made at least once a day.

Today, there are so many options available to satisfy your craving, but not all cups are made equal.

At the Coffee Emporium, coffee is our hero and it is what we are most famous for. With over 25 years in the industry and a legion of loyal drinkers, you may be wondering what goes into a cup of our coffee that makes it taste so good. Read on as we lift the lid and reveal our 4 secrets to the perfect cup of coffee.

1.0 Our coffee blend

When it comes to a good cup of coffee the coffee beans are key. They are after all the main component.

Our multi award-winning signature coffee bean blend is the culmination of our lifetime passion and enduring devotion to creating the very best coffee in Australia.

Eight carefully selected coffee beans sourced from the South American, Central American and African regions make up our trademark blend. The result? A full-bodied, well-balanced blend. It is rich and smooth, with complex caramel and chocolate notes, perfect for both espresso and milk-based coffee drinkers.

It isn’t only the beans that make up our signature blend which sets us apart. We also pre-blend our carefully selected beans before we start roasting them to a medium degree. Why? This signature difference takes advantage of the coffee’s natural acidity and sweetness. It also ensures that every cup of our coffee has a smooth after taste.

2.0 Our coffee recipe

As critical as the selection of freshly roasted coffee beans is, having a recipe that extracts the optimal flavour of the blend is integral.

Since 1991 we have been mastering the art of making a great cup of coffee. Over this time, we have not only perfected our signature coffee blend, but also our recipe.

Our skillfully crafted recipe incorporates the optimal dry coffee dosage, pump pressure and machine temperature to consistently create the very best drop from our blend.

Whether you are sipping a latte, savouring a macchiato or indulging in an icy cold espresso frappe, this core recipe forms the base of all our coffee-based beverages.
